Died: 1958 14 OCTOBER from a cerebral hemorrhage.

Douglas Mawson was a Scientist and an Explorer.Although he was born


in Yorkshire, England he and his family emigrated to Sydney,Australia
when he was two years old. Mawson was married in 1914 and had two
children, their names were Patricia and Jessica.
He formed the nation by
making it to Antarctica on many occasions as a member of expeditions
that explored the vast continent.
Mawson studied mining, engineering, chemistry and geology.
He was interested in the weather in the Antarctic and its glaciers.
He established the first Australian station in Antarctica.
