History, application, design and analysis of collaborative computing.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. describe the history of computer supported cooperative work
2. describe the history of social computing
3. evaluate a computer supported cooperative work site
4. evaluate a social computing site
5. develop a computer supported collaborative work site
6. develop a social computing site
7. analyze trends in collaborative computing

Attendance: This is an online course so no physical attendance is required. Students are
responsible for attaining course objectives and completing the required activities by

Graduate students will need to research and do a presentation on the future of collaborative computing.
The presentation will be pass/fail. If the presentation is not pass, the final grade will be lowered one letter
grade. See project sheets in the SharePoint site for details.
Letter grades will be based on the following percentages of the total points assigned.

Instructions
1. 10 Points: Update Profile
2. 10 Points: Change Appearance
a. Click on the word subsites in the left hand column, scroll down and click on
your name.
b. Click on Your Site. Your Brand and add a description and logo.
c. Change appearance by clicking on Whats your style
3. 10 Points: Share
a. Click on share your site. Add your classmates e-mail and click share.
b. Click on Share in the upper right corner and type in your classmates e-mail,
click on their name when it appears and then click share.
4. 10 Points. Add task list and calendar. Remove Get Started
a. Scroll down to Add an App and click on it. You should also be able to do this
from your home page.
5. 10 Points. Blog
a. Go to the settings icon in the upper right hand corner. It looks like a gear.
b. Scroll down to site settings and click on it
c. Go to the heading Site Administration
d. Select Sites and workspaces
e. Select Blog
f. Create a post with relevant content.
6. 10 Points. Wiki
a. Scroll down to Add an App and click on it. You should also be able to do this
from your home page.
7. 10 Points. Discussion
a. Scroll down to Add an App and click on it. You should also be able to do this
from your home page.
8. Survey
a. Scroll down to Add an App and click on it. You should also be able to do this
from your home page.
9. Create new page
a. Scroll down to Add an App and click on it. You should also be able to do this
from your home page.
