ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE. Summary. This case study relates to organizational culture of OSU Extension model by using competing value framework. This study tells us whether the organization focus is external or internal. Does its top management gives flexibility to its employees or does it prefer control over them? Organizational culture has four dominant culture types: (Clan, Adhocracy, Market and Hierarchy).Organizational culture is based upon the traditions, expectations of employees as well as the company itself and other signs and symbols present within an organization. The hot topic is that these behaviors are closely linked with the business performance of an organization. Connections have been established between organizational culture and performance of its employees. It has been proved scientifically that the companies that hold customers, stakeholders and employees dearer are more successful than those companies that neglect these people. To further enhance the understanding of its reader this case study has used survey and questionnaire to come up with tabulated form of data. The data was based on gender, location, job title, age and years of employment. The results show that the most dominant culture in the current situation is the “Clan Culture” in organizations. This is in agreement with another study which showed that almost two –thirds of universities and colleges in U.S. have clan culture. Clan Culture concentrates on internal maintenance with flexibility, concern for the people and sensitivity for its customers. It is also concluded that in the future a much stronger clan culture will be witnessed by organizations. It is because clan culture is thought of to be a friendlier, family oriented culture. The bonds between the working staff are stronger and hence the loyalty brings long term commitment from employees as well as customers. Teamwork, participation and consensus are appreciated within this culture. In Clan culture people can share their views . These are the reasons why clan culture is more widely accepted within organizations .Therefore organizations adopting this clan culture have better chances of progressing and surviving in the current scenario of the world.
