Frogs: their life cycle,

adaptations and survival

Dear

Kindergarten Families,

We will be beginning a new Education for Sustainability unit

next week on frogs and their life cycle. This unit will run from
March 16th-April 18th, and community day will surround this
topic and what the children have learned. The essential
questions in this unit are the following:
-What is a frog? Describe their unique physical characteristics.
-What habitats do frogs live in?
-What is metamorphosis? It is a process of how animals
change over time.
-What is a frogs life cycle?
-How are frogs adapted in their life cycle?
-How do humans actions affect the lives of frogs and how do
we help animals grow and change?
We will be using an integrative approach by bringing our
learning about frogs into all aspects of the classroom (literacy,
math, science, social studies, etc.). It will also build upon the
childrens background knowledge of adaptations and animal
habitats from our animals in winter unit.
Keep these dates in your calendar for a deeper look into our
frog investigation. April 4th: Family Event at Cook Park,
more
information
will
be
coming.
April 18 th:
Demonstration/Community Day.

Sincerely,
Ms. Childs, Ms. Wagner, Ms. Lishinski & Ms.
Schleifer
