Dear Volunteer Coordinator of SF Marin Food Bank
My name is Crystal Danos, and I am an eighth grader in Del Mar Middle School. I am
contacting you to congratulate your organization on your ability to help people who do
not have the ability to purchase food themselves. I would also like to promote your
philosophy in schools so others are aware of the severity of the hunger problems facing
the disenfranchised.
SF Marin Food bank is striving to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin by providing
food for families, having food drives, and holding annual events to help bring awareness
to hunger. I want to acknowledge SF Marin Food Bank for all your accomplishments. Last
year, your organization raised one million dollars to help produce 46 million pounds of
food at the annual food drive. This couldnt have been possible without your employees
and volunteers. The SF Marin Food Bank has influenced the Bay Area by giving to food
pantries that service the poor and the homeless. Your organizations strive to end
hunger in the bay area has made a big difference. SF Marin Food Bank has made a vast
impact on the Bay Area by providing food for thirty thousand homes.
I believe that many students are unaware of how large of a problem hunger is. I
recommend that SF Marin Food Bank send volunteers or employees to schools to teach
children about your program. In Tiburon there is little awareness of the issue because the
homeless largely do not reside here. To assist your cause, I would be pleased to serve in
the capacity most needed by your organization. I would be pleased to volunteer my
services by assembling groceries for seniors, repackaging large quantizes of food, or
sorting donations.
The SF Marin Food Bank is a wonderful organization that supports to help end hunger in
the Bay Area. Your organization has made a massive difference by helping thousands of
households who could not afford to feed themselves. I would be pleased if the SF Marin
Food Bank had a bigger presence at schools explaining the problems facing the less
fortunate in obtaining food. Thank you for reading my letter.
Sincerely,

Crystal Danos
