To Whom It May Concern,
Bailee Braunreuther volunteered to help with the Wass Canvas Night on January 29, 2015 at Wass Elementary School in Troy, Michigan. The purpose of this event was to provide opportunities for parents and children to observe visual arts instruction through the delivery of Visible Thinking routines, learn about a modern day artist Romero Britto, create a personal canvas, and to further foster a love of art. This night allowed all members of the school community to have fun and stress the importance of art in our society. The volunteers that assisted in this evening helped with activities based on national, state, and district standards. Some of the Visible Thinking routines that students participated in were Zoom In and Step Inside. I am very pleased with Bailees participation in leading a group of students and working with our parents. A total of 325 students and over 300 parents attended this activity. It takes volunteers like Bailee to make innovative activities like this successful. She volunteered for this program well in advance and arrived early for training. Im very appreciative of her positive attitude and enthusiasm that was shared with all participants throughout the evening. The Wass Elementary community has benefited from Bailee serving in this worthwhile event. I would like to thank her for her service and dedication to the Wass professional learning community. Sincerely, Mr. Matt Jansen Principal Wass Elementary
