Unit 3: Transformation and Presentation

Part 1 is due the morning of the CSW. We will discuss set-up in detail later on.
Part 2 due dates will vary: check the course calendar for your presentation time.

Part 1: Transform Project Two

Alter your project into a new iteration with specific attention to audience, medium
or materials, and circulation. Essentially, this is a move to adapt the project to a
specific purpose and audience. Examples include:
Research poster
Zine
Video
Public service announcement (audio)
Diorama or model
Infographic
Comic
Your transformation should be attuned to what weve discussed in class such as
visual rhetoric, interaction, and design. It should incorporate these ideas to create
a transformation that visually and/or interactively represents your topic. This is a
chance for you to work creatively with your topic. Find ways to express your ideas
in a unique waythis is less about going through your research project point-bypoint and more about utilizing ethos, pathos, logos, and kairos to engage your
peers at the Celebration of Student Writing.

Part 2: Ignite Presentation of Project Two

In keeping with this projects emphasis on transformation and presentation, part
two of Project Three emphasizes presentation. The Ignite is not so much a speech
as an elevator pitch written and delivered in such a way that mixes together visual,
textual, and aural extensions of the researched project. These will be 5-10 minute
presentations. You should discuss the key points of your research, what
conclusions you came to, and how you decided to transform your topic. The
content of your presentation may overlap with the content of your CSW
transformation, but the in-class presentation should focus more on a play-by-play
of the research. The environments are differentthe CSW is fast-paced and you
can only speak briefly about your work. For the in-class presentations you will have
more time to represent your information. You are encouraged to use visual and
aural aids such as PowerPoints, photographs, videos, and audio recordings.
