John 8:7-11
When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let anyone among you
who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." And once again he bent down and wrote
on the ground. When they heard it, they went away, one by one, beginning with the elders; and
Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus straightened up and said to her,
"Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, sir." And Jesus said,
"Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again."

The words above are pretty straightforward, aren't they? There is no doubt that no one is free
from sin. For a very little word, there are many different meanings and interpretations of just
what a sin is. We make excuses for our own sins; we try not to think about them, but we often
are quick to point out the sins of others. Funny how that happens. Perhaps by pointing fingers
at others, we feel that our sins are not so bad. God is perfect, God is love. Only he can forgive us
our sins. God sacrificed his only Son who took our sins with Him to the cross. We are
imperfect, and our sins will probably always be with us. But through God's grace, we are
forgiven. We can try to do and be better, winding our way through life, keeping Jesus in our
lives, and loving one another as we hope to be loved. We can be attentive to others and hear
their stories without condemning them. Remember these wise words: "There, but for the grace
of God, go I."

Let the one without sin cast the first stone.
