What is learning and what are the 4 types of learning outcomes? (6 points)
Learning is the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, study,
or by being taught.
Cognitive: having to do with knowledge and mental skills
Psychomotor: having to do with physical motor skills
Affective: having to do with feelings and attitudes
Interpersonal/Social: having to do with interactions with others and social
skills
Explain the reinforcement theory? (2 points)
A behavioral construct where control is achieved by manipulating the
consequences of behavior. A business manager using reinforcement theory
might employ rewards for desirable behavior by staff and punishments for
undesirable behavior to help steer employees toward intended performance
goals.
Explain the social learning theory? (2 points)
Social learning theory is the view that people learn by observing others.
Associated with Albert Bandura's work in the 1960s, social learning theory
explains how people learn new behaviors, values, and attitudes

Explain the goal setting theory? (2 points)


Goal-setting theory refers to the effects of setting goals on subsequent
performance. Researcher Edwin Locke found that individuals who set
specific, difficult goals performed better than those who set general, easy
goals.

Explain the expectancy theory? (2 points)


Expectancy theory A framework that holds that people decide to act in a
certain way because they are motivated to select a specific behavior over
other behaviors based on the expected result.
Table 4.5 details the learning styles (remember forum class ) List the 4
learning styles AND explain how you might present information to EACH

Why do employees need feedback? (1 point)


Motivating employees is about more than charisma and vision. To help
employees perform their best, a great leader will provide feedback the
right kind, at the right time.

Explain what transfer of training is and WHY is it important? (2 points)


Transfer of training is effectively and continuing applying the knowledge,
skills, and/or attitudes that were learned in a learning environment to the job
environment.
What is a training lapse and how does it inhibit the training process? (2
