Instructional Objectives
Students will be able to:
1. Play measures 24-73 in Music for a Darkened Theatre with accurate notes, rhythms, and
dynamics that has been worked on in previous rehearsals.
2. Accurately play measures 1-24 in Music for a Darkened Theatre, and possibly play from
measures 1-73.
1. Review- dynamics in selected sections for subito piano, crescendos and decrescendos.
Accents and marcatos that were discussed in measures 43 and on. Finally in measure 64
saxophones, horn, and baritone remember to play out the moving line.
2. Warm-up
a. One octave F scale in whole notes
b. Two octave F scale in half notes
c. Articulated pattern one octave
d. 1 1-2-1 (choral warm-up) in whatever octave the students prefer
3. Review a familiar section: Music for a Darkened Theatre measures 24-73
4. Go over beginning up to measure 24 to familiarize the students with articulations,
dynamics, and rhythms.
