The purpose of the
Livewiths is to be more
mindful in how my habits
and ways impact my
students.
Hillsides School Counselor
is also focused on promoting
resiliency within the
students in our building. She
has been reading about
resiliency for years and has
in fact been teaching
resiliency lessons to
students with special needs,
for years. The purpose of
this interview is to reflect on
the ways in which we are
currently fostering resiliency
within our students and also
how we can improve our
efforts.
Professional literature
stresses the importance of
teaching essential skills to
promote communication
between peers. The purpose
of teaching these lessons is
to promoting
communication, which in
turn promotes resiliency.
The lessons to be taught are
ones that have been
suggested in the literature.
Exit slips will be given for
students to reflect on their
learning after these three
lessons.
