Black Bear

Baby Elk
Deer

Salmon

Zooplankton

Phytoplankton

Summary
In our ecosystem, the sun produces energy. The plants like
Phytoplankton use photosynthesis to get their energy. The
primary consumers, like zooplankton, deer and elk, the energy
is passed along to the primary consumers. These primary
consumers then get eaten by secondary consumers. In our
ecosystem the salmon eat the zooplankton. The secondary
consumers are then eaten by the tertiary consumer, which are
at the top of the food chain. In our example the Black bear eats
the salmon, baby elk and deer. Every time an animals its
another animal or plant energy is passed along, so energy
from the sun can travel all the way to the tertiary consumers.

Action Plan
Our top predator in section 5 is the black bear. There are many
ways it could die in our section. It could run out of food because
there arent enough plants to sustain other life forms or the
logging in our section could retain them from a proper habitat.
It could be poisoned from a very severe disease and spread that
to other bears and animals. The things we can do to protect
them is to reduce logging in our area or make boundaries so
that they cant go there. We can also use our park to protect
most of the bears so that a majority of them stay safe and
have a proper habitat, food to eat, water to drink, and a
proper ecosystem.
