ThefollowingguideisacompletewalkthroughforinstallingafreshversionofOSXYosemite.Itrequiresnoexperienceandallofthe
necessaryinstallationandpostinstallationtoolsareavailableontonymacx86.com.
UniBeastisatoolthatcreatesabootableinstalleroutofyourdownloadedversionofOSX.Inordertostartfresh,you'llneedaccess
toafunctionalcomputerrunningMacOSXSnowLeopard10.6.8orlater.Thisisarequirement,asyouneedaccesstotheMacApp
StoretodownloadOSXandcreatetheinstallationdrive.Tostartfromscratch,bootingthe10.6SnowLeopardRetailDVDdirectly,
checkoutiBoot+MultiBeast.

3.Purchasea8GBorlargerUSBdrive.
4.Doafullbackupofyoursystem
Thefollowingguideismeantasafreshinstallationmethod.ToperformanupdatefromOSXMaverickstoOSXYosemite,saving
systemsettings,data,andappsfollowthisguide.

STEP1:DownloadOSXYosemite
ThefulloperatingsystemisafreedownloadforanyonewhohaspurchasedMacOSXSnowLeopard,Lion,
orMountainLion,oraMacpreloadedwithMavericks.DownloadtheApplicationfromtheMacAppStore
usingyourAppleIDonanyMacorfunctionalcomputerrunningMacOSX10.6.8orlater.
1. OpenMacAppStore
2. LoginwithyourAppleID
3. DownloadOSXYosemite
TheApplicationInstallOSXYosemitewillappearin/Applications.

STEP2:CreateaBootableUSBDrivewithUniBeast
Takeadeepbreathandtakeyourtimethisisprettysimple,butit'seasytomissthingsifyourush.Followeachsteptotheletter.
1. InserttheUSBdrive
2. Open/Applications/Utilities/DiskUtility
3. HighlighttheUSBdriveinleftcolumn

4.ClickonthePartitiontab
5.ClickCurrentandchoose1Partition

UniBeastwillnowcreatethebootableUSBdrive.Theprocesswillonlytakeabout1015minutes,dependingonsystemanddrive
speed.Donotunplugorstopduringthistime.
20.DragMultiBeasttoyourcompletedUSBdrive.

STEP3:RecommendedBIOSSettings
Ifyou'reinstallingonarecommendedCustoMacdesktopwithAMIUEFIBIOS,
theoptionsaresimple.ForothersystemsmakesuretosetyourBIOSto
OptimizedDefaults,andyourharddrivetoAHCImode.Herearestandard
AMIUEFIBIOSsettingsforGigabyteAMIUEFIBIOS,GigabyteAWARDBIOS,
ASUSAMIUEFIBIOS,andMSIAMIUEFIBIOS.
1. ToaccessBIOS/UEFISetup,pressandholdDeleteonaUSBKeyboard
whilethesystemisbootingup
2. LoadOptimizedDefaults
3. IfyourCPUsupportsVTd,disableit
4. IfyoursystemhasCFGLock,disableit
5. IfyoursystemhasSecureBootMode,disableit
6. SetOSTypetoOtherOS
7. Saveandexit.

STEP4:InstallOSXYosemite
You'realmostdone!AllyouneedtodoisbootfromtheUSBdriveandinstall!

ordertosolvebootissuesforoldergraphicscardsandmachines.TypevtobypasstheApplebootscreenandenterverbosestartup
mode.X58andX79systemsalwaysneednpci=0x2000.Forfurtherexplanationsofbootflags,checkouttheposthere.Also,ifyou
needhelpwithwhattouseforyourgraphicscard,seetheposthere.

MultiBeastisanallinonepostinstallationtooldesignedtoenablebootfromharddrive,andinstall
supportforAudio,Network,andGraphics.InadditionitincludesSystemUtilitiestorepair
permissionsandacollectionofdriversandconfigfiles.Theinstallationiscomplete,butthedriveisn't
bootableyet.BootfromtheUSBagain,thistimechoosingYosemite.

3.ChooseUSBHDD
4.AttheChimeraBootScreen,chooseyournewYosemiteinstallation.
