Elizabeth Torres, 17, of Toledo, died Sunday. Born on March 3, 1998, in Toledo, OH. Born to Jane and Christopher Torres. Elizabeth was an only child and never seized to make her parents proud. She was a great friend to many and was always there for people when they needed her. Elizabeth was a high school student with a 4.0 GPA. She was devoted to her studies of becoming a Marine Biologist. She was an awesome student with a promising future. Elizabeth was an amazing athlete at her school and lettered in soccer. She played outside midfielder on her high school's varsity team and was one of their top scorers. She started playing soccer at the age of 6 on a minor league club team. Elizabeth was great with animals and enjoyed spending time with her two German Shepherd dogs. It has been two years since Elizabeth, then at age 15, went missing. She was recently found in an alley behind an abandoned building. She had been beaten and raped so severely there was nothing anyone could do to save her. Donations in honor of Elizabeth can be sent to the Not for Sale Campaign in order to help reduce this incidence from happening again to another.
Calling hours will be from 5p.m. to 8p.m. on Wednesday April 8 at the
Saint Joseph's Funeral home. Burial will be held at 8 a.m. Friday morning at Redwood Cemetery.
