PLANNING
To sum up the results of my research, here are the three parts of planning
that I will base my final product on.
1. Cover Page: The following flat plan is the layout that I have selected for
my cover page.

As seen, the masthead will be big, bold and bright, an important factor that
makes my magazine stand out as indicated by the results of the
questionnaire. The selling line will be right below the masthead, followed by
the dateline and price tag to avoid scattering them in different places, thus
saving space. A convention I broke, which is seen on many sports magazine
covers, is placing the puff next to the masthead. Since I had already decided
to put other components up there, I decided to place the puff elsewhere. .
Also the cover lines are to be in a listed form because I felt that adding
pictures next to those (as seen in similar product 2) will result in an
undesirable clutter. Bar code is to be put at the bottom of the page. Font
style will be bold and big for the main cover line and masthead, and the
cover lines to be complementing the main image and other elements of the
cover. The background of the image will be its natural self, so my colour
scheme will also be accordingly. The image will be a full shot of the player in
action as decided based on the results of the questionnaire.

2. Contents Page: The layout of this part is as follows:

I will be using three pictures at the very top of the page, where
conventionally, is the title. Breaking this adds certain uniqueness to my
contents page but also keeps it simple at the same time. The contents will be
listed below the title, with their page numbers at the right side of the page. I
will use the colours green, black and white to not detract from the pictures
placed at the top. Only one font will be used for all the content of this page
to maintain simplicity.
3. Two-Page Spread: The following is the flat plan for the two-page
spread:

The content of the spread will be a pictorial interview of the rising star, as
decided by the questionnaire. I will be using 4 pictures in my interview. I will
quote word-to-word answers from the subjects response to my questions
using one font. The questions that I have already asked will be boldly
highlighted above every answer. The title of the interview will also be bigger
and bolder than any other text on the page. The interview will be two pages
long, with the heading being at the bottom of the first page. Bright colours
(shades of green and yellow) will be used.
