Concert Report #3
On Tuesday July 15th, I attended Professor ONeals concert. I was excited to
attend my third Jazz concert. The concert was held Upstairs at Vitellos in Studio City,
California. Professor ONeal introduced us to all of his fellow musicians and the
instruments. The setting of the concert gave me a feeling that the concert would be
unforgettable. I enjoyed going to the concert because I was able to listen to beautiful
music played my Professor and have a great dinner. The band was comprised of Kevin
ONeal on the contra-bass, 5 string acoustic bass guitar by Ribbecke, vocals and
compositions; Patrice Quinn doing the vocals; Oscar Hernandez on the Steinway grand
piano; and Aaron Sefarty on the drums.

In conclusion, this concert was an amazing experience. I never would have

imagined that I would go to a dinner club to listen to jazz. I really loved every
performance throughout the concert and I was sad it ended. It was lovely to listen to such
talented musicians, including my professor. I realized that jazz is a type of music that
could portray images, express feelings and thoughts, and tell stories in a way that words
cannot. This concert made me have a completely different perspective on Jazz music. The
experience received from this concert was one that every student needs to obtain, because
it was amusing and educational. I truly enjoyed the concert and I hope the audience
enjoyed it as well.
