RECAP: The Rainier scored 2 runs in the top of the 11th inning, including a sacrifice fly by SS Ketel Marte (0x4, RBI), as Tacoma defeated
Albuquerque 3-1 on Thursday afternoon. DH Jesus Montero extended his hitting streak to 8-game, going 3-for-5. CF James Jones (2x5, R,
RBI, SB) and LF Leury Bonilla (2x4, R, 2B) each recorded 2 hits, while 2B Shawn OMalley (1x3, R, SB) picked up 1 of the Rainiers 8 hits.
Starter Sam Gaviglio (6.0,2,1,1,2,6) allowed 1 run on 2 hits and struck out 6 over 6.0 innings, but did not factor into the decision. His run
allowed in the bottom of the 6th inning, snapped a string of 10.0 consecutive scoreless innings to open the season. Overall this season he has
allowed only 1 run on 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 9 in 11.0 innings. Relievers Logan Bawcom (1.0,1,0,0,1,0), Mark Lowe

Guaipe (RHP). No. 29 Ji-Man Choi (INF) and No. 30 Danny Hultzen (LHP) are both on the Disabled List.
QUEST FOR 4000 (Courtesy of the Rainers): The Rainiers are 14 victories shy of 4,000 all-time franchise wins. Since 1960, Tacoma has put
together a record of 3986-3964. The Rainiers record as an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners is 1463-1408.
REHAB ASSIGNMENT: SS Chris Taylor began his rehab assignment with Tacoma on April 11. In 5 games with the Rainiers, Taylor is batting
.263 (5x19) with 3 runs scored, 1 double, 2 RBI and 2 walk. He was placed on the 15-day Disabled List on April 4 with a fractured triquetrum
bone in his right wrist. Taylor was struck in the wrist by a pitch in the 6th inning of a Spring Trianing game on Friday, March 13 vs. the
Milwaukee Brewers by pitcher Jim Henderson. He remained in the game, and singled up the middle, but was removed after the base hit for a
pinch runner.
COACHING STAFF: Pat Listach is in his first season as the Rainiers manager and is the 30th manager in Tacoma history. Listach served as
the manager PCL Iowa Cubs in 2002 and 2008, when he was named PCL Manager of the Year. He led those teams to a combined 110-87
(.558) record. He has also manged two seasons in the Southern League with West Tennessee, going 148-130 (.532). Listach spent the 2014
season as the third base coach for the Houston Astros. He has over 20 years of experience in professional baseball as a player, Major League
and minor league coach, and minor league manager and coordinator. Prior to last season, Listach was the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league
infield coordinator in 2013 and coached on the Major League staffs for the Chicago Cubs (2011-12) and Washington Nationals (2009-10) for
two years apiece. Originally drafted by the Mariners in 1987 out of McLennan College, Listach began his 11-year professional career with the
Brewers after they drafted him in the fifth round of the 1988 draft. Listach was named American League Rookie of the Year in 1992 after hitting
.290/.352/.349 (168x579) with 47 RBI. Pitching coach Jaime Navarro, who is in his 7th season with the Mariners organization and hitting Cory
Snyder, who is in his 5th season with the organization, are each in their second season with the Rainiers. Tom Newberg and Tyler Moos are
part of the training staff, while Will Lindholm is the teams performance coach.

RECAP: The Generals held 3-0 lead, but allowed 5 runs over the 4th and 5th innings as Jackson fell to Mississippi 4-6 in Game 1 on
Thursday. 3B Jordy Lara (2x4, R) recorded the teams only multi-hit game, while C Steven Baron (1x4, 2B, 3 RBI) drove in 3 of the Generals
4 runs. Starter Stephen Landazuri (2.0,1,0,0,0,2) allowed only 1 hit and struck out 2 before the game was suspended due to rain on
Wednesday night. LH Scott DeCecco (5.1,12,5,5,0,6,HR) recorded the loss, allowing 5 runs on 12 hits over 5.1 innings in relief. LH Jordan
Shipers (2.1,2,1,1,0,3) allowed a run in the top of the 9th inning. In Game 2, RF Gabby Guerrero (2x3, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI) hit a 2-run home
run as part of a 3-run 6th inning as Jackson came-from-behind to defeat Mississipp 5-4. DH Jabari Henry (1x2, R, HR, 2 RBI) hit his first home
run of the season with a 2-run, 2-out blast in the 2nd inning that gave the Generals a 2-1 lead. Starter Kyle Hunter (2.2,4,2,2,2,4) allowed 2
runs on 4 hits over 2.2 innings, but did not factor into the decision. RH Trevor Miller (2.1,3,2,2,2,0) allowed 2 runs on the 4th inning, while RH
Moises Hernandez (2.0,2,0,0,0,2) earned the win after tossing a scoreless 5th and 6th innings.
OF NOTE: OF Dario Pizzano has hit safely in 3 of 4 games he has appeared, batting .300 (3x10) with 1 RBI, 2 walks and 1 stolen base.
Jacksons Opening Day roster features 17 players who played for the Generals in 2014, including Matt Anderson (RHP), Steven Baron (C),
Patrick Brady (IF/OF), James Gillheeney (LHP), Moises Hernandez (RHP), Kyle Hunter (LHP), Stephen Landazuri (RHP), Jordy Lara
(INF/OF), Trevor Miller (RHP), Julio Morban (OF), Dan Paolini (INF), D.J. Peterson (INF), Tyler Pike (LHP), Dario Pizzano (OF), Jordan
Shipers (LHP), Tyler Smith (INF) and Carlton Tanabe (C). Paolini and Peterson each led the Generals last season with 13 home runs, while
Paolini finished second on the team with 65 RBI after appearing in a team-high 116 games.
COACHING STAFF: James Horner is in his second season as manager of the Mariners affiliate in the Southern League, the Jackson
Generals. Horner is in his 9th season with the Mariners (2005-10, 2013-current), but third as manager since returning to the organization in
2013. Pitching coach Lance Painter and hitting coach Roy Howell round out the staff in Jackson. Painter enters his 10th season with the
Mariners, including his fifth with Jackson (2010-12, 2013-current). Howell returns to the Generals after managing the Tacoma Rainiers in 2014.
He guided the Rainiers to 74 wins in his first season leading the field staff, which was tied for the 9th-most victories collected by a manager in
his first full season at Tacoma. The rest of his staff include athletic trainer BJ Downie and performance coach Derek Mendoza.

Thursday night. Marlette (3x3, 2 R, RBI, BB) led the team with 3 hits, while Reynolds (1x3, 2 RBI), CF Ian Miller (1x5), LF Tyler ONeill (1x4,
R, BB), 3B Jay Baum (1x4, R, 2 SB) and SS Brock Hebert (1x4, R, 2B) each recorded 1 of the teams 8 hits. Starter Dan Altavilla
(1.0,4,3,2,1,2) allowed 3 runs (2 ER) on 4 hits, but was removed at tossing 33 pitches in the first inning. Relievers Will Mathis (3.0,4,2,2,0,2),
Nick Valenza (3.0,5,3,3,2,3,2HR) and Rafael Pineda (1.0,4,2,2,0,1) combined to allow 7 runs over the final 7.0 innings.
OF NOTE: RHP Edwin Diaz (1-0, 0.00) has allowed only 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 16 in 11.0 scoreless innings over his first 2
starts with Bakersfield in 2015. Dating back to his final start last season on Aug. 29 at Quad Cities (w/Clinton), Diaz has not allowed a run in his
last 16.0 innings (4 H, 4 BB, 25 K). C Tyler Marlette has hit safely in 5 of 6 games he has appeared this season, batting .450 (9x20) with 7
runs scored, 2 home runs, 5 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 HBP. Among California League leaders, Marlette ranks 1st in the league in on-base
percentage (.500), 2nd in slugging percentage (.750) and 3rd in average (.450).
COACHING STAFF: Manager Eddie Menchaca, who managed the High Desert Mavericks last season returns for his second season leading
the Mariners California League affiliate. He enters his seventh season in the Mariners organization, including five as manager. Menchaca has
led his squad to the postseason in four of the last five seasons. Pitching coach Andrew Lorraine and hitting coach Max Venable each return
to Menchacas staff for the second consecutive season. Lorraine is in his sixth season as a pitching coach in the Mariners minor league
system, while Venable returns for his second season as hitting coach. Geoff Swanson, who served as the Clinton LumberKings trainer in
2014 is in his first season with Bakersfield and first-year performance coach Aaron Reis round out the Blaze staff.

BB) recorded his first career mulit-home run game after hitting solo homers in both the 5th and 9th innings. DH Wayne Taylor (2x6, R, RBI)
and C Daniel Torres (2x4, R, 3 RBI, BB, SF) each recorded 2 of the LumberKings 12 hits. Starter Tyler Herb (4.2,11,6,6,3,2) allowed 6 runs
on 11 hits over 4.2 innings, but did not factor into the decision. Relievers Ryan Horstman (1.1,0,0,0,1,2), Ramire Cleto (2.0,1,0,0,0,1), Peter
Miller (3.0,0,0,0,1,2) and Rohn Pierce (2.0,3,0,0,2,2) combined to hold the Cougars scoreless over the final 8.1 innings. Pierce earned his
first win of the season, tossing a scoreless 12th and 13th innings.
OF NOTE: Dating back to Aug. 13, 2014, RH Peter Miller has not allowed a run over his last 13.0 innings (9 G). During this stretch, he has
limited opponents to a .125 average (5x40) with 6 walks and 13 strikeouts. Dating back to June 23, 2014, LH Ryan Horstman has tossed 11.0
conesecutive scoreless innings (4 BB, 12 K). C Wayne Taylor has hit safely in 4 of 6 games he has appeared this season, batting .286 (6x21)
with 1 run scored, 1 double, 4 RBI and 2 walks.
COACHING STAFF: The Mariners Midwest League affiliate, the Clinton LumberKings, is managed by Scott Steinmann, who returns for his
second consecutive season with the team. His staff includes returning pitching coach Cibney Bello, who is entering his third season with the
Mariners organization and hitting coach Mike Davis, who was the hitting coach with Everett in 2014. Athletic trainer Matt Corvo and
Performance Coach Paul Howey are both in their first season with Clinton.
