RECAP: 1B Alex Liddi hit a 3-run home run in the first inning and RF Eric Thames later went deep as the Tacoma Rainiers beat Fresno 42 on Friday night. Starter Danny Hultzen (6.0,3,2,2,2,5) allowed a run in each of the first two innings, but kept the Grizzles scoreless over
the next 4.0 innings to earn his 3rd win of the season. RH Jhonny Nunez (2.0,2,0,0,0,2) and RH Logan Bawcom (1.0,1,0,0,1,1) combined
to hold Fresno scoreless over the final 3.0 innings to secure the victory. Bawcom earned his first career triple-A save. Thames (2x4, 2 R,
HR, RBI) led the team with 2 hits, while Liddi (1x4, R, HR, 3 RBI) had a team-high 3 RBI. DH Stefen Romero recorded his first triple-A hit, a
triple, going 1x3.
OF NOTE: INF Nick Frankin, who had a day off yesterday, has hit safely in 8 of 9 games to start the season, batting .333 (11x33) with 8
runs, 1 double, 2 home runs, 7 RBI and 5 walks. OF Eric Thames is the only player in the league to reach base safely in each of his
teams first 16 games this season, with 14 games with hits. Overall this season he is batting .339 (22x52) with 11 runs scored, 3 double, 1
triple, 3 home runs, 6 RBI, 1 stolen base and 8 walks. Zunino became the first Rainiers player since second baseman Dustin Ackley to
have his first Triple-A hit go for a home run on Thursday night. Ackley hit a solo homer in first Tacoma at-bat on July 15, 2010 at Reno. The
Rainiers begin the season with 4 of the top 5 prospects in the Mariners farm system, as ranked by Baseball America. Catcher Mike Zunino
(No. 1), pitchers Danny Hultzen (No. 3) and James Paxton (No. 4), and infielder Nick Franklin (No. 5) all sit atop BAs list entering the
2013 season.
HITTING FOR THE CYCLE: Shortstop Carlos Triunfel recorded 5 hits, including hitting for the cycle as AAA Tacoma shutout Fresno 8-0
on Wednesday night. Singling on the first pitch he saw in the fifth inning, Triunfel completed Tacomas first cycle since Raul Ibaez
accomplished the feat on Aug. 19, 1997 vs. Albuquerque. He also is the first player in the Pacific Coast League to cycle since Nashvilles
Caleb Gindl on July 10, 2011, also against Albuquerque. Triunfel achieved the act in his first 4 at-bats of the game. He tripled with one out
in the first inning, led off the bottom of the third with a double, then homered in the fourth. He completed the cycle in the fifth inning after
lining a single down the right field line. Triunfel snapped an 0-for-20 stretch coming into the game and was the first Rainiers player since
Michael Saunders on July 30, 2011 vs. Las Vegas to record 5 hits in a game.

RECAP: Jackson allowed a walkoff home run to lead off the bottom of the 11th inning ans
Mssissippi defeated the Generals 8-7 on Friday night. The game started on Thursday night, but was
suspended due to rain in the 6th inning. Starter Chance Ruffin (5.0,6,4,0,1,1) allowed 4 runs (0
ER) on 5 hits in 5.0 innings, but did not figure into the decision. LH Nick Hill (1.2,0,0,0,0,2) struck
out 2 batters in 1.2 scoreless innings, while Moises Hernandez (1.1,2,2,2,0,0), Tyler Burgoon
(2.0,2,1,1,3,4) and Stephen Kohlscheen (0.0,1,1,1,0,0,HR) each were charged with a run in relief.
LF Leon Landry (3x6, R, RBI) led the team with 3 hits, while C John Hicks (2x5, R) recorded
Jacksons only other multi-hit contest. 2B Brad Miller (1x4, R, HR, 3 RBI, BB) hit his 3rd home run
of the season with a 2-run blast in the 1st inning. The Generals dropped the 2nd game with a walkoff in the 9th to lose 3-4 to Mississippi. It was their 4th straight. Starter James Gillheeney
(5.1,8,2,2,1,2) allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 5.1 innings, but didnt figure into the decision. RH
Jonathan Arias (2.2,0,0,0,1,5) struck out 5 batters in 2.2 innings, before RH Carson Smith
(0.2,4,2,2,1,2) allowed 2 runs in the 9th inning to record his 2nd loss. RH Forrest Snow was
ejected before even throwing a pitch after not being on the official lineup card. 1B Steven Proscia
(2x4, 2 R, 2B) was the only Jackson player with 2 hits in the game.

weekly awards of the season. Miller was named the Southern League Hitter of the Week and Noesi the Southern League Pitcher of the

RECAP: 3B Ramon Morla hit his 3rd home run of the season to lead the Mavericks to an 8-3 win over Rancho Cucamonga on Friday
night. Morla (2x4, R, HR, 2 RBI) led the Mavs with 2 hits and 2 RBI, while CF Jamal Austin (1x4, R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB) and 2B Dillon Hazlett
(1x5, 2B, 2 RBI) each knocked in 2 runs. Starter Cameron Hobson (6.0,6,1,1,0,2,HB) earned his 2nd win of the season, allowing only 1
run on 6 hits in 6.0 innings. RH Dominic Leone (1.0,2,2,2,2,0,WP,BK) was charged with 2 runs in the 7th, while RH David Colvin

RECAP: The LumberKings and Timber Rattlers have been postponed due to inclement weather.
The two teams will kick off their 3-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 4:00
PM CT at Ashford University Field. The Timber Rattlers do not return to Clinton in the first half of
the 2013 season. Therefore, Friday's postponement will be made up when the LumberKings travel
to Appleton from May 8-10.
