Daybook Activity #10: 2/16/15

In an isolated western culture, there is an object that is believed to bring about

limitless success and happiness. This object is guarded by the lives of these individuals. It
is taken with them no matter where they go or what theyre doing. This object, in a sense,
shapes their lives and determines their every movement It has been filled with the
wisdom (or lack thereof) of everyone around them. The people of this culture speak into
this object their every thought, idea, opinion, or feeling. Everyone else then hears the
things spoken into it. The things that are said are respected with the upmost importance
and become the focal point of each and every persons life. This object is where any
sense of self-worth or self-importance stems from. In order to have any respect in this
culture, you must speak into it only things that are accepted by everyone else. If you
speak of anything that does not align with the communitys values or ideas, then you will
be an outcast and not be respected by anyone.
