Volunteer Opportunities
Please consider volunteering. I have several families who have volunteered to come in and to do
volunteering at home. I will be sending things home as the need arises. You do not need to let
me know when you plan to come in to volunteer. The first time I would just like you to come in
and observe to see what types of activities would be of interest to you. The best time to do
this is during centers 9:20-10:20 or 11:00-11:30. After you have decided what type of activity
you would prefer to do with the children, we can set up a schedule. This would allow me to prepare an appropriate activity for that day and time.
Upcoming Events
May 12th School Pictures
May 15th Parent Teacher Conferences
May 19th Field Trip to Safari Park
May 28th Spring Concert
June 5th Spring Carnival
We had a great time building during our Family Fun Activity!

What to do with your child this week:

Have your child go on a Zz hunt at home. If your child already
knows their letters, start having them search for things that
start with a /z/ sound. Have your child make letters especially
those in their names with a variety of materials such as yarn, playdough, pipe cleaners, etc. Ask them to tell you how one letter is different than another letter? Talk about how we make
the letters. Do we use straight lines or curved lines? Is it tall or short? Is it large or small?

Reminders
The doors open for car riders at 7:45a.m. They are considered tardy
after 8:10. Since we are doing our breakfast as a family style meal, it
would be extremely helpful if you could have the children here by
8:00a.m. It is very important that children arrive at school on time. They understand the routine of the school day and when they arrive late it throws their
routine off. Routine is very important at their age.
Parking information
For everyones safety we ask that you park in the side lot, if you are parking to pick up your
child for dismissal. This will help us prevent pedestrians crossing in front of vehicles.
Weekly Snack
The children are offered a healthy snack everyday. Last week the children had watermelon, sweet
snap peas, carrots, zucchini, oranges, and water.
