Dear Honor Day Volunteer:
For almost 30 years, the members of Citizens Concerned for Students (CCS) have recognized Pasco County
African American public middle and high school students who have achieved the honor roll at least once
throughout the current school year. Each year, the awards ceremony, known throughout Pasco County as
Honor Day, draws hundreds of families and community supporters together to celebrate the
accomplishments of these students. We estimate that over 900 persons were in attendance at last years awards
ceremony. This years awards ceremony will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 (the day before Mothers Day),
at the Pasco Schools Center for the Performing Arts at Wesley Chapel. More than 1,600 students will be
recognized for their academic achievements. In 2014, a College and Career Fair was also added to this event.
An event of this magnitude requires many volunteers to assist with the College and Career Fair and Awards
Ceremony. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Pre-Reception for Volunteers and College and Career Fair Representatives

College and Career Fair

Student Check-In

Administrator/Dignitary/VIP Check-In

Ushers for Reserved Seating

Award Set-Up and Certificate Distribution

Program Distribution

Student Line-Up
If you are available to volunteer for this prestigious student awards ceremony, please visit our website at
www.HonorDayPasco.org. Please review the volunteer descriptions and RSVP for the area(s) in which you
would like to serve. A complimentary volunteer pre-reception will take place at the Wesley Chapel High
School Gymnasium at 2:00 p.m. If you are unable to stay for the entire event, volunteer timeframes are as
follows:
Phase I: 1:45 p.m. 5:00 p.m.
Phase II: 4:45 p.m. 8:00 p.m.
