READ, READ, READ for at least 10 minutes daily to anyone and everyone!!!!
Read picture books
Listen to childrens music and storybook tapes and CDs in the car
Read Mini books that are sent home weekly.
Practice High Frequency Words
A new word is introduced weekly through mini books.
Students should know 18 words!
Practice rhyming words, play rhyming games (cat, hat, sat)
Sing songs, children love The Alphabet song and Letter Sound Song.
Ask your child to sing it to you!
Practice writing
Keep practicing writing first and last name beginning with a capital letter followed by
lower case letters.
Encourage your child to write stories in a journal.
