Introduction
Time
Practice 3 radicals by grouping questions.

When you have ab=0. What are possible solutions to this
equations?
a=0 or b=0.
So then if (x-3)(x+2)=0? X=0 or x+2=0 so x=0 or x=-2.
So if I gave you an equation like our practice, how could we get it

into
minutes
the form to figure out when it is zero? This is called solving
quadratics
by factoring.
So how about then: 6y2-y-15

Learning Activity
#2

Solving radical equations with factoring:

First look at equations where there is a variable not under the
radical
sign. Use procedure for solving equations then factor to get a
solution.
Now take a look at equations involving 2 radicals. Isolate the more

complex radical, square both sides, isolate radical, square both
minutes
sides
again, and solve using factoring.
Examples:

m 2 m+3=6
7+ 3 x= 5 x + 4+5
