Dear. Mrs. Erturk,
Im writing you with hopes to obtain a seat in the Introduction to Technical Communications
course you teach at the UNCC. My education and past experience have given me the confidence
to excel in your course and I would look forward to take it given the opportunity.
Throughout the years of studying Computer Engineering at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte, I have accumulated a viable degree of knowledge concerning computer architecture,
data communications, networking, and electrical circuit analysis. Ive found joy and success in
electronics ranging from embedded computer system development to designing amplifying
circuits. I also have plenty of experience in technical writing as Ive written numerous reports on
lab experiments and demonstrations that Ive conducted. Additionally, at my current job as an
electrical/firmware engineering intern at Alpha High Theft Solutions, I frequently write technical
documents, send e-mails, and am constantly communicating in a business environment.
This course will give me a great opportunity to improve on a few areas of my writing. As an
engineer entering the field, I will likely write an ample amount of content about observations,
results, conclusions, etc. Writing in a style such that others are able to easily visualize what Im
talking about while being concise as possible is one thing I can improve on. On the other hand, I
feel as though I am good at including important details and writing professionally.
I am looking forward to the opportunity of participating in this class. Thank you.
Sincerely,

Billy Wilson
