Catalano, Michael. "The Prospect of Designer Babies: Is It Inevitable?" The Prospect of

Designer Babies: Is It Inevitable? PIT Journal, 1 Jan. 2012. Web. 8 Mar. 2015.

This peer-reviewed article provides many new topics to designer babies. What is
interesting about the article is that an actual experiment was done and real-life data was
given. The article does not only focus on the pros or the cons, it gives real life solutions
and answers to this very open-ended question. This article also dives into foreign pursuits
of genetic engineering. It looks mainly focuses on China and what that particular nation
does and how it will affect America. This article is valuable to me because it opens my
eyes to different questions about the ethics of genetically engineering a person. This
article is reliable because it comes from an institution and has been reviewed by other
students and professors.

Health minister Lord Howe went to the House and advocated that this new technology
provides real hope to individuals and families that did not have hope before this
procedure materialized. Howe also stated that he has concerns about the legality of the
IVF procedures. James Lawford Davies, a lawyer, and Catholic and Anglican Churches
also voiced his concerns about this procedure. This provides conflict. This source is very
reliable because it is a major news contributor. This article also provides interviews. The
article was written by a BBC News Health Editor.

Parry, Wynne. "Designing Life: Should Babies Be Genetically Engineered?" LiveScience.

TechMedia Network, 18 Feb. 2013. Web. 8 Mar. 2015.

One of the main components of this article is how Mother Nature plays a role in this
situation. Examples were provided about how people differ at millions upon billions of
locations in the spectrum that is DNA. This provides a different look into how uncertainty
plays a part in genetic engineering. One has no definite idea of what the outcome will be.
This is a reliable source because it interviews experts in their fields. Wynne was a
reporter at The Stamford Advocate. She freelanced for The New York Times and
Scientific American's web site. She has a masters in journalism from Columbia
University and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Utah.

only for the rich. This article gives real life situations about regular people going through
IVF treatments and how much it cost them emotionally and financially. This article is
reliable source and I will use it for my paper. Jean M. Twenge is a professor of
psychology at San Diego State University, is the author of Generation Me and co-author
