Dear Gelop,

How are you? Did anything special happen on Mars? Please write me back.
Here on earth everything is fine. Only a little a little bit boring, because
its raining al day. Do you know what rain is? Ill explain it to you.
Rain is just water that falls down from the sky; there are three different
reasons of how the water comes in the skies.

1. Convectional rainfall
Here the water rises because the sun warmed the ground. After that, the
ground warms the air above it. The warm air rises until it cools down and
then the water vapour condenses and the clouds are formed. The clouds
make it rain.

2. Relief rainfall
Here the rain has to do with the wind. When the wind meets a mountain,
the mountain forces the air to rise. When it rises, it cools down and then
the water vapour condenses and clouds are formed. The rain of this type
of rainfall always falls on the windward (that is facing the wind) side of the
mountain.

3. Frontal rainfall
Huge masses of air travel all around the world. When a warm air mass
meets a cold one, the warm air slides up over the cold one. When the
warm air rises, it cools down and then the water vapour condenses and
clouds are formed. The clouds make it rain.
Rain is very important for life on earth. Without rain, plants wouldnt grow,
and we had nothing to eat because a food chain always starts with a plant.
So everything would die if there wasnt rain. How do you guys actually do
this on Mars?
