All About Orphaned Elephants

New born elephants are often orphaned because its mother and family have been
killed.

A calf is dependent on its mothers milk for two full years of its life.

An elephant nursery in Kenya exists in the Nairobi National Park under the David
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which is overseen by Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick.

The David Shelfrick Wildlife Trust has saved over 150 orphaned baby calves.
