Please note that I have recently graduated from the University of Central Florida - College of
Nursing, with a master's of science in nursing with an emphasis in nursing education. My
graduate internship was spent learning directly from highly successful and outstanding faculty
leaders. My internship allowed me to use the latest case scenario simulation developed by the
NLN- ACE'S cases. Case scenerios are effective interactive teaching activities I first used as an
American Heart Association CPR instructor. Additionally, several years ago I completed an
online 6 week training course using evolving case studies for chronic care management. This
was one of the first of its kind developed through a collaborative effort by Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg College of Public Health and their School of Nursing.
Technology, expertise, and leadership roles held over the years have prepared me to expand my
role beyond clinical instructor to formal classroom instruction. I love bringing enthusiasm to
student learning by creating lectures that are relevant and cutting edge. For example, you will
find eight years experience in health promotion as a college health nurse, health coach, and team
manager of a group of health coaches. This work history makes an excellent fit for the health
promotion curricula next spring. Nursing lab simulation with medium to high fidelity manikins,
or online course management in canvas over multiple platforms are exciting opportunites to
shape student relationships and enhance learning.
Current adjunct faculty and teaching experience is seen over eight semesters. Clinical training at
Health First hospitals systems in Brevard County Florida, aka Space Coast County, using
electronic medical records, bedside mobile workstations (BMWs), and comprehensive care (see
Tables 1, 2).
