A developer originally planned to demolish a building they purchased at 1520 13th Avenue, but agreed under community pressure to relocate the building to 1500 Broadway instead. Relocating the building will replace a gas station and help preserve the original architecture of the area from the early 20th century, though the intended new use of the building is still undecided.

Pike Pine Conservation Overlay District: Relocation Project
The Auto Accessories and Parts property at
1520 13th Avenue was recently purchased by developers. The original plans presented by the developer proposed that the building be demolished. Due to strong pressure from the Pike/Pine community, the developer agreed to relocate the building to 1500 Broadway. The relocation of this building will have a strong presence at the corner by replacing a gas station. The Auto Accessories and Parts building will help create a smoother urban fabric within the Pike/Pine Conservation District, while also preserving the original architecture of the auto-row era of the early 20th century. The intended use of the relocated building is currently undecided.
