    Pike Pine Relocation Project

    Previous Location: 922 E. Pike Street Proposed Location: 1422 11th Avenue
    The images on this page were created to assist the DPD in visualizing the proposed relocation of the Comet Tavern Building from its historical location at 922 E. Pike Street to a new location at 1422 11th Avenue 1.5 blocks away. The proposed location is suggested as a way to activate the 1400 block of 11th Avenue, a street that is currently underutilized and which could benefit from increased pedestrian traffic. Both parcels ar e zoned NC3 P-65 with comparable land values. It is expected that development pressures on its current location would be greater due to its corner location within the Pike/ Pine Corridor. By locating the building midblock, the chances of the building being preserved are likely much greater. In the interim between the old site being developed, a P-Patch is suggested to provide an open space amenity to the neighborhood.
