Description of how to implement in the class: The teacher will introduce the
activity by modeling how to collect data, add the information into Graph Club and
then analyze the information using a Variety of graph formats ' line, bar, picture,
circle. The teacher will demonstrate how to put information into Graph Club by taking
a quick poll on the classes favorite sport from the list provided. The teacher will then
lead the students through the steps of creating a graph using Graph Club. ! Title,
images representing the various holidays and specific color assigned to each holiday
will be added to the graph.) While exploring the various graphs, the teachers will
prompt students to analyze the information provided in the graph using appropriate
math terms such as greater than, less than, most, least and equal. Statements will be
added to the writing component of Graph Club where various statements will be
listed. The teacher will then expand the higher thinking levels and ask the students
to gather information offer the weekend. The students will be asked to survey their
friends an or family over the weekend. The survey will include five Holidays Easter,
V-day, Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. The students will return from
gathering the information over the week end then brought to the computer lab. The
students will then began on creating their own graph from Graph Club using the
information provided.
Level of Technology Implementation (Loti): Level Four This is a level 4, because
the students can collect information, graph the information, and analyze the results.
Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided With the
help of Graph club, Students will create and examine a graph using
information provided. Each student will record once their favorite holiday,
Christmas, Easter, and Halloween.
