Registration
Registration for 2015 Summer School will be through an online process only. HaysCISD
Summer School accelerated coursework and credit recovery coursework registration will
open May 1st. Credit Recovery Registration forms will be pushed out through HHS, LHS and
LOA counseling departments. Phoenix registration will be handled by HHS, LHS and LOA
Counselors on a case by case basis. The Phoenix program is free.
Counselors will meet with students between May 1st and May 29th and provide
recommended summer school courses to students. Students will bring home their
registration form indicating what they should register for and what the cost will be.
Directions for registration will be on that student recommendation form as well as the
HaysCISD website. We will also hold three registration parent nights at LHS. These three
opportunities are provided as support to parents and students in their registration process:
Registration Sessions @ LHS
June 1st- 4:15-7:00pm
June 2nd, 4:15-7:00pm
June 5th, 9:00am-12:00pm (LATE REGISTRATION) 20$ Late fee will apply
Late registration will be held June 5th and a $20 late registration fee will apply. All late
registrations will be handled through the online registration process as well. Acceptance
will depend on class space availability.

Payments

Form of payment accepted: Online Credit Card payment at: http://hayscisd.revtrak.net/tek9.asp.

No online payments will be accepted after June 11th. No personal checks are accepted, and no cash
will be accepted at LHS, HHS, or LOA. Thank you for supporting our move to online payments.
This change will improve the payment, registration and refund processes for Hays CISD Summer
School. Our recommendation is to come prepared with a credit card or pre-paid credit card. If
you operate with cash only, you may purchase a pre-paid card at Walmart, Target, HEB or various
other locations.
Transportation
Bus transportation is provided June 8-July 17. A transportation form must be turned in with
registration.
Meals
Summer School is a closed campus. Students will not be permitted to leave campus during breaks.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided at Lehman High School. Breakfast is served 7:35-8:00am.
Lunch will be served 11:30-12:00.

Attendance
The expectation for summer school attendance is that in order to earn credit, you must be present.
3 absences in any period of a registered course will result in being dropped from that course with
no refund. 3 tardies to class will count as one absence and will count towards being dropped from
your course.

Course Descriptions
TAKS Review Sumer School
Description:
TAKS review classes are only for students who have attempted and not met the standard on the
TAKS exit level examination in one or more of the content areas. Tuition is FREE. Students should
register with the counseling office at their home campus as soon as they are aware they need the
class.

EOC STAAR Camp Review

Description:
EOC accelerated instruction is provided FREE of charge for 9th - 11th grade students who did not
pass the spring administration of EOC tested subjects. Students receive accelerated instruction to
prepare them for the retest administration of STAAR EOCs in July.

Credit Recovery
Description:
If a student has completed at least one year of high school and is behind in any subject, that
student may take summer credit recovery for that subject. Seniors who have not passed TAKS
may be concurrently enrolled in the TAKS Review class in addition to taking credit recovery
classes.
**Students who need BIM or Communications Applications for credit recovery must register for those classes in Course
Acceleration.

Cost:
Tuition is $100 for credit ($50 if on free/reduced lunch). Payment must be made in advance of

personal checks or cash are accepted.

These classes are offered for students wanting to get ahead in credits. There are classes taught by
Hays CISD teachers as well as online options. Cost is $100 per credit ($50 if on free/reduced
lunch). Payment must be made in advance of each credit attempt. Form of payment accepted
include: online credit card payment only. No personal checks are accepted. A minimum number of
students must register for the class to be offered.
