Endocrinology
A branch of biology and medicine dealing with the
endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific
secretions known as hormones.
Concerned with developmental events like growth and
development, tissue function, sleep, digestion,
respiration, excretion, mood, stress, lactation,
movement, reproduction, and sensory perception.

What is an Endocrinologist?
A specially trained physician who diagnoses diseases
related to the endocrine system.
Clinical specialty focuses on the endocrine organs:
pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, ovaries, testes and
pancreas.
The aim is to restore the normal balance of hormones.
Often treat: menopause, metabolic disorders, lack of
growth, osteoporosis, thyroid diseases, cholesterol
disorders, hypertension and infertility.

Research diseases

Salary
Private practice: A private (direct) financial relationship
with patients by eliminating the practices financial
dependence on insurance and Medicare
reimbursements.
Wait times are shorter, appointments are longer.
