18-20: Near flawless performance. Consistently demonstrates a full characteristic sound and all
around mastery of the instrument and music.
16-18: Little to no mistakes. Demonstrates a characteristic tone quality almost always. Very few
rhythmic and note mistakes are present.
14-16: Acceptable student performance. Played through the music continuously with a
consistent tone; several rhythmic and note errors are present.
12-14: Below average performance. Demonstrated a consistent tone quality most of the time.
A significant amount of rhythmic and note errors are present.
10-12: Demonstrated some preparation but mistakes got in the way of a continuous
performance. Demonstrated a consistent tone about half the time. Attempted all required
material.
8-10: Only some preparation is evident. Did not demonstrate a consistent tone quality. Too
many errors are present. Attempted most of the required material.
6-8: Very little preparation is evident. Only demonstrated a consistent tone quality about half the
time. Attempted about half of the required material. Rhythmic and note errors are present
throughout.
4-6: Rhythmic and note errors make up most of the performance. Did not demonstrate a
consistent tone quality. Attempted less than half of the required material.
2-4: An attempt was made to play some of the required material.
0-2: Attempted little to no required material.
