How to start SAP CRM WEBUI like an application

T he SAP CRM WEBUI in the Internet Explorer browser is not as stable as it should be. End users can use
the history buttons of the browser and they can change settings. To avoid this user behavior, you can let
them work f ull screen by using the key shortcut F11. T he problem is they can still disable this f unctionality
by pressing the key again.
What youll see next is how to start the SAP CRM WEBUI directly as if it was an application.
T his means:
No surf ing needed to the WEBUI
Complete f ull screen start up
All Internet Explorer options, except f or ref resh (Ctrl + F5) and close (Alt + F4), disabled
Right click on the Internet Explorer icon in your Windows quick launch bar:
Choose Create Shortcut in the menu that opens:
Drag and drop the shortcut f rom the Windows quick launch bar to your desktop.
Right click on the shortcut and choose Properties:
In the pop-up, delete the input f or Start in. Enter the f ollowing as target:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -k
http://<SAP_SYST EM_LINK>:<PORT >/sap/crm_logon?sap-client=XXX
Replace the words in bold with the correct parameters:

If you want, you can change the icon f or your shortcut. Your shortcut is ready now. Double click on it to
launch the SAP CRM WebUI f ull screen:
Internet Explorer will open in F11 mode and go directly to the requested web page. In
this case your SAP CRM WebUI logon screen:

No buttons or URL bar are available and the F11 f unction is disabled. T he Alt+Tab f unctionality of
windows is still available. T he ref resh (Ctrl+F5) f unctionality is also still available.
In order to exit the application, use the shortcut keys Alt+F4.
Please note you can use these setting f or any webpage to load as your def ault start page. To get rid of
the f ull screen mode, just remove the -k parameter f rom the target.
