Subject: Evaluation of PhD Management Sciences Thesis in respect of Mr. Ghulam Baqir
Respected Sir,
I am pleased to evaluate the thesis titled Cost Effectiveness of Quality Programs in
Exploration and Production Companies of Pakistan.
Some Observations on the Thesis
1. Problem identification is missing from first chapter. Moreover, need of the study requires in
depth explanation. Provide the literature support to claim made in the introduction, problem
statement, and purpose of the study.
2. Formatting of section numbers and underneath bullets need correction.
3. Cite some studies in Pakistani context in section 2.3.1, 2.3.2.
4. Literature review of the dissertation is weak. Provide the rigorous review of recent literature.
Eg. All articles related to conceptual model at page 62, who are published in last five years
must be included in it.
5. Ending para at page 2 gives almost fourteen references at single place. This gives idea of cut
and paste. Avoid this practice as on page 7, 61, 64, 65
6. Research objectives shall be written after research questions, as they are derived from the
later one.
7. Source of scales may be provided which is missing currently in chapter 3.
8. Either use page numbers for in text citation throughout the thesis or ignore it completely.
9. Use consistent formatting in the manuscript. E.g. use of comma, use of tab, spaces after
paragraph, etc.
10. Duality of everything is bad. Avoid repeating the more than two way of representing the
same thing in results.
11. Proofread whole draft carefully for language mistakes.
12. Match the in text references of the text with the full references at the end. Some are cited in
the text but are not there in the full references.

13. Avoid repeating the Limitation of study in the end after including in the first chapter.
Current piece of research is well written. The thesis may be submitted after incorporating
above mentioned observations.
