Marines Ready to Leave Afghanistan; Is

the U.S. Government Ready for Another

War?
_____________________________________________________________________
For the past decade United States Marines have been fighting the War on Terrorism, the
government is willing to pay the wars price at a high cost, many Americans who have given
their lives in the line of duty. Marines have been in different parts of Afghanistan; Helmand
Province, which includes, Sabit Qadam, Nowzad, Musa-Qala, Kajaki, where Marines fighting
against the strongest organization: Al Qaeda, which was founded mainly by the responsible of
the 9/11 attacks in New York, Osama Bin Laden. This organization is an international terrorist
group, a threat to the whole world.
The move signaled the completion of the Marines' combat mission in Afghanistan (Seck,
2014). Marines are ready to
transfer over the duties to the
Afghan National Army
(ANA) leaving behind
countless stories, battle
attacks, and an infrastructure
that cost the U.S.
government billions of
dollars. All the gear is meant
for the ANA too keep using
it to fight against the Taliban.
For example, the largest base
in Afghanistan, Camp
Leatherneck located in Helmand
Province, the main base occupied
by U.S military and British troops along with camp Bastion; a base next to Leatherneck, used as
an airport.
There has been several discussion towards this topic, whether the U.S. should intervene in global
crisis or not. Questions keep arising if it is worthy to maintain this War on Terrorism or not, if the
U.S government is capable economically to keep fighting Al-Qaeda any more time. As we have
seen in recent months, with Osama Bin Ladens death in May 2011, a hunting that went over a
decade and a mission lead by the CIA and executed by the Navy Seals the fighting did not cease.
As days keep passing more trouble is out the door and it looks like a never ending war. In Iraq, a
place where the U.S. military had ceased missions because there was no more threat, talibans are
showing again. In Syria, a group under the name Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) another
extremist group against the government, that has caused the U.S. government to send troops in
small numbers to those places. But the question really is the U.S government ready to stand
another war?
Congress should really take a long sit and review the nations budget and look back to the past
and see Arlington National Cemetery, which carries more than 400,000 military members and we

are wondering if there is space for any more members. Even if our nation has the best military
and are always ready to confront any enemy and defend our nation, it is time to have our military
take a break, because again there is too much money involve in just one unit when they are
planning to deploy.
Another successful tour made in the Middle East where it seems that trouble has no stop and that
Al-Qaeda and ISIS will never rest until they reach they goal. And as long as it keep happening
our military member will be there to stop them and to keep our nation safe.
