I dont wanna be a chicken

Apparently Holden loves ducks. In chapter 9, Holden says,
"You know those ducks in that lagoon right near Central Park
South? That little lake? By any chance, do you happen to
know where they go, the ducks, when it gets all frozen over?
Do you happen to know, by any chance?" I realized it was
only one chance in a million (Salinger 59).
This isnt the first (or last) time Holden has shown concern for
the ducks in Central Park. In chapter 2 Holdens mind
wanders to the ducks in the park again. He says,I was sort
of thinking of something else while I shot the bull. I live in
New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central
Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it
would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where
did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went
when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if
some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or
something. Or if they just few away (Salinger 12).
Whats up with the ducks? Using the information you know
about Holden in chapters 1-10, draw some conclusions as to
what Holden is really asking about when he thinks about the
ducks. In addition to one of the quotes above, consider a
second citation to support your argument. Additionally, think
about the following before composing your paragraph:

Meaning of the symbol
