Description
Material: Parchment.
Foliation: ff (iv) + 77 + (iv).
Dimensions: 242 x 152 mm.
Ruling: 185 x 120 mm; 38 lines per page.
Scribal features: The Medici family arms are found in the illuminated
border on the first page.
Binding: Full purple goat leather binding ('alla greca'); wooden boards;
evidence of lost fastening, four metal pins mark on the grooved edges of
the front board and remaining of removed double laced leather straps on
the back board.
Scribes: Copied in Italy for a member of the House of Medici by Demetrios
Damilas ( , Repertorium 1A, no. 93).
Ownership
Belonged to the Right Rev. Samuel Butler, D.D., bishop of Lichfield (d.
1839). Purchased from the library of Samuel Butler, 5 July 1841.
