In science, we were working with a mystery mineral; and we used the scientific method to

figure out what are mineral was. First, I examined my mineral. My mineral has a violet color and the
streaks are white. I found no special properties. Then, after my examination, I made a hypothesis. I
thought my mineral was either Amethyst or Fluorite because they had the same appearance and had many
of the same properties. For the most part, I found that special properties and color helped me identify my
mineral the most. When Fluorite had some special properties that my mineral did not have, Amethyst did.
Color helped because it excluded many minerals. In conclusion, using the steps of the scientific method
helped me figure out my mystery mineral was amethyst.
