Jos Corazn de Jess (November 22, 1896 May 26, 1932), also known by his
pen name Huseng Batute, was a Filipino poetwho used Tagalog poetry to express the
Filipinos' desire for independence during the American occupation of the Philippines, a
period that lasted from 1901 to 1946. He is best known for being the lyricist of the
Filipino song Bayan Ko.

Buhay Huseng Batute was born on November 22, 1896 in Santa Cruz, Manila to Vicente de
Jess, the first health bureau director of the American occupation government, and Susana
Pangilinan of Pampanga. He was christened Jos Cecilio de Jess but he later
dropped Cecilio and replaced it with the Spanish name Corazn (heart) because he said it best
described his character.

Ildefonso Paez Santos, Jr., popularly known simply as "IP Santos" (September 5,
1929 January 29, 2014), was a Filipino architect who was known for being the "Father
of Philippine Landscape Architecture." He was recognized as a National Artist of the
Philippines in the field of Architecture in 2006.[1]
He was the son of Filipino poet Ildefonso Santos and Asuncion Paez.

Santos was born Joseph Minieri in Brooklyn, New York. He is known for his roles
as James Garner's friend, LAPD Sergeant (later Lieutenant) Dennis Becker in the 1970s
television series The Rockford Files[1] and as Lt. Frank Harper in the 1980s TV
series Hardcastle and McCormick. He had brief parts in several lesser-known films and made a
number of guest appearances on television shows throughout his acting career, frequently in the
stock character role of a police officer
