SYRIA CRISIS

Group 1
Ms. Lockridges 8th grade class

WHY ARE THE SYRIANS FIGHTING?

One of the main reasons that

Syria is going all crazy is
because the children in Syria
are putting anti-government
graffiti on the walls to show
that theyre trying to stop the
government

ITEMS (THERE ARE 125 PEOPLE IN

THE REFUGEE CAMP)
(Water) (Food

Packets)-

(Rubber

Bullets)-

(Antibiotic
(House

Pills)-

Building Supplies)-

PROBLEM

20 injured people who require

antibiotics to

Fight infections they got from war

10 pregnant women who need special

care

10 elderly people who have weak

health

The camp currently has tents that

house 20 people each. Multiple
families are living in the same tent,
and dust flies into the tents when the
wind blows. Lack of adequate housing
has led to additional injuries and has
worsened health conditions

WHAT THEY NEED? WHAT

MIGHT HELP?

A group of looters have started

stealing food and water at night.
When the food trucks come to
drop off food, its usually the
fastest and strongest men who
get the supplies first

A Turf War has surfaced

between different religious sects
in the camp, causing fighting
and one shooting

There are only three toilets for

the entire group, and they
frequently get stopped up. This
has increased the spread of
disease and has made the
environment disgusting and
almost unbearable. This has
increased violence and misery in
the community

30 people in the community are

children. Because they having
nothing else to do, they have
been getting into trouble and
acting up. Their schooling has
been completely stopped because
of this crisis, and they are already
falling way behind. Considering
the correlation between education
level and poverty, Syrias
economy will have a bad future if
they dont catch up

The citizens of turkey, the host

country, want to help Syrians, but
the refugees are disruptive to
some of the Turkish citizens and
are using up a lot of their
resources
