Dear US Soldier,
Our names are Adonis and Anthony and we are high school students in California. We are
currently reading All Quiet on the Western Front and it made us realize your importance as a
man/woman currently serving in the United States Armed Forces as you fight for freedom around
the world. If it werent for your courageous service, we would not be able to enjoy the freedom
we have in our daily lives.
In the novel we are reading, the main character Paul deals with life in the military, explaining the
everyday conditions he deals with in order to protect his country. We would like to know what it
is really like on the front lines and in the military, in general. What great benefits can you tell us
that come with serving in the military, such as the pros and cons? What made you realize that
you wanted to join the military? What is life like while you are at the basis? How was training
and do you believe that anyone is eligible or what does it take? Do you plan to stay with the
military your whole life or just serve a certain amount of years? What is it like being in another
country? We are very interested what your daily life is like while engaged in combat and if your
education has helped you to be successful in the military.
