Hello!

I am Mirai Espinosa and for my project, I volunteered at El Pueblo De

Los Angeles, commonly known as Olvera street, so from this point on, I will call it Olvera
street. I had a great time working on my project. Olvera street is the oldest part of Los
Angeles, and has many attractions. I chose to help Olvera street because it was an
important, nearby, and accessible organization to work with.
My jobs were
- booth assistant
- tour guide assistant

I was planning to volunteer for 3 days. The first day was going to help clean up, but
unfortunately, it started raining. My grandma called to say that the cleanup event was
canceled. That following Friday, i went to the Olvera street tree lighting fiesta. I
volunteered in a craft booth for the Chinese American museum. My job was to help kids
create holiday greeting cards. We had about 15 cool stamps that the kids chose to use.
There about 20 chairs in all and they were filled the whole time. On my last day Sunday,
I was supposed to be an assistant tour guide.m The problem was that nobody came. My
grandmother said that this was normal. While we were there we ran into an experienced
tour guide there. He told us that he was willing to give us a tour. i enjoyed the tour very
much and i learned many new things about downtown la. I had a great time and i hope to
volunteer again sometime. THank you!!!!
