Basmallah in Riqa style

Riqa style has evolved from Nasakh and Thuluth. It is noted for its simplicity
and its short horizontal stems. The word Riqa means a small sheet, which
could be an indication of the media on which it was originally created.

- Hold the Pen at a left-angle.


- Follow the arrows.
- Write each letter in stages.
- Practice Approach:
1- The dots (1, 2, & 3)
2- The 4 letters that their
shapes are common in most
letters.
3- The Individual letters of the
alphabet.
4- Combination of 2 letters.
5- Words.
6- Phrases.

- The alif with a height of 3


dots and a width of 2/3 of the
width of the pen.

- The baa which combines


the shapes of one dot, 2 dots
& the 3 dots. It is 3 dots in
width.

- The baa in a different shape


which combines a small
stroke by the edge of the pen
and the shapes of 2 dots &
the 3 dots.
- The nuun which combines
the shape of 1 dot, shorter 2
dots & the 3 dots.
