Well templates determine how downhole well data are displayed in various applications. The Single Well Viewer Edit Mode utility allows users to create and edit templates which consist of individual vertical tracks for different data types. Templates are stored in the project database and can be assigned to specific wells or used for all wells. The utility also provides default templates that can be used initially until project-specific templates are created.

Well Templates Overview Well templates are needed to view well data in the LogEdit, Single Well Viewer, Correlation, and Cross Section applications. The Well Template Editor utility, merged with Single Well Viewer in this release, lets you create and edit templates that determine how your downhole well data are displayed. The merged utility appears on the PetroWorks interface as Single Well Viewer Edit Mode, under the Utilities menu on the PetroWorks Launcher Bar. Until you create templates for your projects, you can use one of up to eight default templates for all applications. SWV Edit Mode creates these templates when you select File > Templates > Create Defaults. You can use one template for all applications or create several templates for a variety of displays. You can assign specific templates to individual wells. All templates are stored in the project database and are accessed by the LogEdit, Single Well Viewer, Correlation, and Cross Section applications. SWV Edit Mode, your templates appear as cartoons and consist of individual, vertical display components called tracks. You can select the track types to be included in the template, specify the order in which to place the tracks in the template, and set display parameters for each track. For more information, refer to the StratWorks manual Setting Up StratWorks, Creating and Transferring Well Templates. To access the manual, from the PetroWorks Command Menu select Utilities > Single Well Viewer Edit Mode, then in the Single Well Viewer Edit Mode, select Help > Online Manual > User Guide.
