Theyearhasapproacheditsend.Throughoutthisschoolyear,Iwrotedecentamountof
paperscomparedtootheryears.ThereweretimeswhereIstruggledtofill5to6pagesofpaper,
however,Ihaveachievedanabilitytoextendmypaperswithoutincludingtoomuchofthe
repetitions.Since6yearsagowhenIfirstcametoAmerica,myweakestsubjecthasbeenwriting.I
hadabadhabitofwritinginKoreanbeforetranslatingintoEnglish.Asaresult,thephrasesthatI
wantedtoincludeinmyessaywasunnaturalandIcouldntbeasdescriptiveasIwantedittobe.
However,IfeelmuchbetteraboutwritingnowthenIhaveeverbeen.Istilllackinmanyways
comparedtomyclassmatesandIamveryafraidthatmyskillsarenotenoughtomeetthe
expectationsofUniversitythatIllbeattendingaftergraduation.Despitetheseworries,Ihavemade
someimprovementsthathelpedmebecomeawriterwhocouldatleastwritelikeanaverage
personinAmerica.

Thankfully,Ididnothavemanyproblemswithoutoutcomeone.Bothofmymajorpapers
hadanappropriatetonesbyavoidingpronounssuchasyouandI.Also,Ihadaclearsenseofwho
myaudiencewas,therefore,IappliedthenuanceaccordinglyasifIwasaprofessionalanalyst.
However,youcanseethedifferencebetweenthemajorpapersfromfirstandsecondsemester
clearly,thepapersfromasecondsemestersoundsmoredetailedandnatural.

InoticedfrommyfirstmajorpaperthatIdidnothaveenoughquotesandevidencesto
supportmyclaimsandanalysisthattakesupprettymuchalltheportionsofmypaper.Thus,Itried
toincludeasmanyevidencesaspossiblethatcouldperfectlysupportmyanalysisthroughoutmy
secondmajorpaper.ThesourcesthatIextractedtheevidencefromwerentverydiverse,butItried
mybesttofocusonchoosinganappropriatequotes.

Ifyoucomparemyfirstandsecondmajorpapers,youcanseethatIlackpersuasive
argumentsinmysecondmajorpaper.Thefirstmajorpaperincludedstrongargumentsonhow
cloningisadoubleedgedswordthatthetopicitselfiscomplextojustifyifonesideiscorrector
not.Ontheotherside,mysecondmajorpaperdoesntstatemuchaboutcomplexityofthistopicas
wellasapersuasivearguments.AlthoughIdidimprovesignificantlybygettingmyselftoget
comfortablewithmakingargumentsfrombothsides,mysecondpaperdidntshowmuchofthe
complexitybetweenbothsidesoftheargument.

Duringtheclass,Ihadanopportunitytoparticipateinapeereditingactivity.Becauseofthis
activity,someminorgrammarerrorsinthemajorpaperonewerefixedwithahelpfrommypeers.
Also,thefeedbacksonmyessayingeneralmademethinkdeeperaboutwhatIneededtoinclude
inordertorevisespecificpartsoftheessay.TheycommentedalotabouthowIneededtosupport
someoftheanalysiswhiletheywereproofreadingmypaper.Thus,IwasabletonoticethatIhadto
