COLOR AND MOOD Grade 3

How does color affect the impression that a work of art makes on the viewer?
Learning Objectives
1. Identify color schemes in paintings and discuss the ways in which color is used to convey a mood or tone in a work of art.
2. Understand the effects of cool vs. warm colors in establishing mood or tone in an art
These two images were VTSed at the start of class. Students then spent some time thinking of, and listing opposite moods or feelings (synonyms). They were to then choose 2 opposites
and create an illustration to go with the feelings/moods of the drawing. Color was incorporated as an indicator of the feeling/mood of the work.
