BEFORE HATCHING

The eggs came in a

carton.

We split up into groups

to name 5 of the duck
eggs
1. Andrea
2. Justin the Soccer
Master
3. Jessa
4. Winston
5. Splashy
The eggs were in an
incubator which is like a
mother duck sitting on
them (110 Fahrenheit)
The eggs were in the
incubator for 28 days.
We turned off the lights
and used a flashlight to
peek inside the eggs
and saw ducks moving.
We could see veins too.

HATCHING
We were in Mrs.
Hurleys room and Miss
Gresko showed the
ducks hatching on Apple
TV through the iPad.
Many of the eggs were
pipping (cracking).
When the eggs hatched,
they moved side to side
and other ducks helped
the ducks hatch.

AFTER HATCHING
We took the ducks
outside using an
octagon fence and the
ducks got to play.

While we sang
OCanada, we saw a
duck hatch!

The ducks visited our

room on Friday.

Some ducks needed

help hatching.
A few ducks died

The ducks had a bath

when they were dirty.
We are going to set up
the octagon in our
classroom and the
ducks got to run around
inside.

One duck had a crooked

neck, but Mrs. Hurley
massaged its neck and
now its doing just fine!

We got to pet the ducks.

They feel soft. We need
to be gentle with them.
