Blackboard at RCCC
Online classroom at RCCC
RCCC offers 4 different forms of
Blackboard courses:
Internet courses
Hybrid courses
Web-Based courses
Web-Enhanced courses
Internet courses
Internet courses have the following
characteristics:
Internet courses are designed to give the
maximum flexibility and works well with the
students schedule
All course content will be in Blackboard
Typically there are no on-campus meetings, but
the instructor may require on-campus testing
Internet Instructors may use a variety of online
tools to enhance the learning experience, as well
as textbook publisher tools and sites
Hybrid courses
Hybrid courses combine the face-to-face
classroom with online learning It is the best
of both worlds!
Course content is delivered through
Blackboard, just as Internet courses
Hybrid Instructors use Blackboard to share
course materials, lecture notes, online
discussions and other communication tools,
which frees up class meetings for
presentations, discussions, etc.
Hybrid courses will have required meeting
dates and times on campus
Web-Based courses
This is a traditional face-to-face course,
with a requirement that students have
Internet access as a supplemental part of
the course
This type of course meets fewer hours oncampus than a traditional (WebEnhanced) section
Student must attend all on-campus
sessions and complete online coursework
through Blackboard
Web-Enhanced courses
This is a traditional face-to-face course
that offers supplemental materials to
students through Blackboard
Instructors will provide students with
the course syllabus via Blackboard, as
well as some additional content
Enrollment Verification
Assignment (EVA)
This is a required assignment that all Internet
and Hybrid students must complete as soon as
classes begin
It must be completed for every Internet and/or
Hybrid course they are enrolled in
completing one does not apply to all!
The EVA is located in the Start Here area of the
